Web Accessibility

The Good:

We have until March 2002 to meet State Policy 1210 and Section 508 Compliance.

There are no printed penalties for not making the deadline, yet.

The Bad:

ADA does not care ....

...about visual presentation.

...about cost of conversion to new standard.

...if you do not know HTML 4 and CSS2.

All State of Kansas Web Sites must meet Policy 1210 standards and Section 508 Guidelines.

The Ugly:

Netscape 4.X browsers make up approximately 25% of the visits to Oznet sites.  Netscape 4.x Browsers support few CSS codes.  It also has limits on the number of styles, "<DIV>" and "<SPAN>" tag codes it will show.  Thus, compliant web sites may look down right ugly in these browsers.

Compare the original and the attempt at making a page with tables accessible and usable in the major browsers.
