ET Data Sources

Data for use in irrigation scheduling is available from a number of sources.  Here are links to the data from K-State Research and Extension automated weather stations,  the Western KS sites sponsored by the Kansas Water Office and the K-State Research and Extension, the Big Bend Groundwater Management sites.  For easy retrieval, I've combined 19 Western KS sites, including NWS airport, K-State experiment station and Kansas Water Office stations in a single daily report.   If you need additional information, please let us know.

Latest  Western KansasPrevious Daily Values, or

                                         2003 Daily Values

K-State Research Sites
These are the automated weather stations at the K-State Research centers and fields. The reference ET values reported by these stations are alfalfa reference (ETr) values. Alfalfa reference crop coefficients should be used to determine the actual crop ET values for these weather stations.

South West Area
These are automated stations in the Southwest KS district.  Supported is provided by K-State Research and Extension and the Kansas Water office. The reference ET values reported by these stations are alfalfa reference (ETr) values. Alfalfa reference crop coefficients should be used to determine the actual crop ET values for these weather stations.

Airport Stations
These are the National weather service 1st and 2nd order offices.  The Et values are calculated in  the same manner as for the SW and K-state research sites.  Alfalfa reference crop coefficients should be used to determine the actual crop ET values for these weather stations.

Big Bend Groundwater  Management
These are automated stations supported by the Groundwater Management District 5. The reference ET values reported by these stations are grass reference (ETo) values. Grass reference crop coefficients should be used to determine the actual crop ET values for these weather stations.
