Pesticide Roundtable
Pesticides Best Management Practices Roundtable
January 24-25, 2006 - Nebraska City, NE
The Heartland Water Quality Coordination
Initiative's Nutrient and Pesticide Management (NPM) Team
hosted a Pesticides Best Management Practices (BMPs) Roundtable
at the Lied Lodge and Conference Center, located at the
Arbor Day Farm in Nebraska City, NE. This roundtable was
held on January 24-25, 2006.
The Pesticides Roundtable consisted of 24 participants from
IA, KS, MO, and NE. These participants included university
researchers and state and federal agency personnel. The
NPM team hosted similar Roundtables in 2004 regarding Phosphorus
BMPs, and 2005 covering Nitrogen BMPs. Both of these roundtables
were followed by a summer workshop. This workshop was designed
to discuss roundtable issues and to establish implementation
procedures throughout the state and county levels. A similar
workshop will be held this summer, June 6-8, 2006 to cover
Pesticide BMPs.
