The Heartland Water Quality Coordination
Initiative's Nutrient and Pesticide Management (NPM) Team
hosted a Targeting Critical Areas for Implementation of
Best Management Practices (BMPs) Roundtable at the Lied
Lodge and Conference Center, located at the Arbor Day Farm
in Nebraska City, NE. This roundtable was held on January
9-10, 2007.
The BMP Roundtable consisted
of 28 participants from
IA, KS, MO, and NE. These participants included university
researchers and state and federal agency personnel. The
NPM team hosted a similar Roundtable in 2004 regarding
Phosphorus BMPs, Nitrogen BMPs in 2005, and Pesticides
in 2006. Each of these roundtables were followed by a summer
workshop.
