The CIMSPIP is a
multi-authored and multi-state project funded in 2000 by the USDA under
the Risk Assessment and Mitigation Program. The proposed program
objectives will be completed by 2005. The overall goal of the project is
to develop technologies for stored product insect management that rely
on alternatives to organophosphate pesticides and the fumigants methyl
bromide and phosphine.
CIMSPIP is a
collaborative effort
Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS, is
the lead institution for this project. Other institutions involved
include the USDA's Grain Marketing and Production Research Center,
Manhattan, KS; Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK; and Purdue
University, West Lafayette, IN. Leading US experts in various
aspects of stored-product entomology, mycology, agricultural
engineering, and extension are involved in this 5-year project.
This web site will be an invaluable source for research and extension
information originating from work proposed under the CIMSPIP.
