Extension Program Responsibilities

    Provide leadership and assist county extension personnel in conducting educational programs in the area of insect pest management for southwest Kansas. Assisting county Extension agents, area farmers and crop consultants in solving insect pest problems. Providing liaison with state and federal agencies, agri-business, commodity organizations, consulting groups, and local farmers. Relating insect (and disease) management concerns of western Kansas farmers to research personnel at the Research-Extension Center and appropriate departments on the KSU campus . Assisting State Extension Specialists in providing educational material on lawn, garden, and household pest problems important to western Kansas. Cooperating with Entomologists in neighboring states on insect pest problems important to the area.
