Research interests and accomplishments

Nearly 20 years of experience in the identification, biology, behavior, ecology, and management of insects associated with stored grain, food and feed-handling establishments. Evaluate chemicals and alternatives on insects. Develop sampling and trapping programs for bulk-stored grain and food-handling establishments. Published over 80 scientific and extension publications on stored-product insects and their management. Currently exploring reduced-risk grain protectants, use of high temperatures for controlling insects in food-handling establishments, and developing and evaluating IPM programs for food and feed processing facilities.
