The constituent institutions have made long-term commitments in terms of faculty and operational funds in Consortium research areas. The CIMSPIP offers a unique opportunity to conduct coordinated research directed towards high priority problems in the stored product arena. The Coordinating Committee will approach major industries or foundations to seek additional support. The strong scientific expertise will make the Consortium a formidable candidate for competitive funding. Proposals submitted to federal agencies and foundations will be increasingly collaborative across states.
