2003 SMALL FRUIT PROJECTS

                                                                        Evaluation of  Grape Cultivars 
Twenty-four varieties of grapes were planted on Canadian Fine Sandy Loam soil at the Research Center. The varieties consist of twelve red, blue and white American varieties four red, blue and white European varieties; three white and blue French-American Hybrids; four red and white Eastern European varieties; and one newly released variety from the University of Minnesota breeding program. There are eleven cultivars for wine, six for table, one for juice/jelly/ three for juice/jelly/wine, one for juice/jelly/table ad two for juice/jelly/wine/table. The project will evaluate the performance, productivity and adaptation under Kansas conditions.
