TURFGRASS RESEARCH PROJECTS

National Turfgrass Evaluation Program (NTEP) - coordinated by USDA.

Among the parameters evaluated within the NTEP trials are overall turfgrass quality, stand density and color. Warm season grasses are often rated for how well they stand up to harsh winter conditions. Entries in NTEP variety trials are typically from seed companies, who are charged a fee for both the scientific evaluation of their varieties and the exposure obtained from trials results. Results from other NTEP trials around the country are available at http://www.ntep.org .

  1. Bentgrass

  2. Bermudagrass

  3. Buffalograss

  4. Tall fescue - new trial of 130 cultivar planted

  5. Kentucky Bluegrass
