Each spring across the state of Kansas, many K-State  Research and Extension county agents, agronomists, and their cooperators conduct wheat field days and plot tours. Click here to see the schedule of upcoming events.

It's a great chance to catch up on the latest information on varieties, yield performance, pests, fertility management, etc.

Although there's nothing like being in the field on a beautiful day, we can't always make it to the tour. The purpose of this web site is to provide a "virtual" wheat field day. We hope you find it interesting and useful.

In addition to this Home page, there are five stops on this web-based tour:

bulletVarieties  Jim Shroyer, KSU Research and Extension agronomist, leads a tour of some of the noteworthy wheat varieties in Kansas.
bulletYields  Kraig Roozeboom and Jim Shroyer, KSU Research and Extension agronomists, team up to talk about performance results at replicated and unreplicated tests.
bulletPests  Bob Bowden, KSU Plant Pathologist and Leroy Brooks,  KSU Entomologist, talk about pest problems.
bulletFertility  Dale Leikam, KSU Research and Extension agronomist, talks about soil fertility issues.
bulletWeeds  Dallas Peterson, KSU Research and Extension agronomist, talks about some weed issues.

We recommend that you start with the Variety tour. You can use the text at the top to jump between tour stops at any time.
