HN 132 Basic Nutrition -Wait List Protocol
Fall 2006 - For New Students

Wait List Protocol.  If you tried to enroll in HN 132 Basic Nutrition, and have been put on the wait list  please follow this protocol.

Getting on the wait list does not automatically enroll you in the course if a place should open up. However the wait list IS monitored by the instructor who may contact you to give special permission to get in.

Therefore we recommend that you email the instructor, Sharon Morcos, at smorcos@ksu.edu to verify your interest in taking the course. This will also give the instructor your email address if she needs to notify you that you have permission to take the course. Please check your email every 48 hours because if you do not respond the open spot may be given to someone else.

If you are given permission you will need to go to the KATS web site at: http://kats.ksu.edu and add the course.

Another Alternative: HN 132 by Distance. Another alternative, if you cannot get into the regular classroom section, is to enroll in the "Distance" section of HN 132 Basic Nutrition. You don’t go to class for this course. Instead, lectures are given via CD-ROM and videotaped review sessions for exams are delivered right to your doorstep. You also will receive the course text and a detailed study guide to facilitate your note-taking and help you apply concepts. There are deadlines for competition of assignments and exams, but otherwise you decide when and where you want to study and "attend class". If you are self-motivated and like to work independently this may be an option for you. Taking HN 132 by Distance is more expensive than the regular classroom sections for in-state students, though at this point in writing it might be less expensive for out-of-state students.

If you are interested in taking the Distance section of HN 132, you can search for it at the Division of Continuing Education (DCE) web site at: http://www.dce.k-state.edu/courses/

When you get to the HN 132 course web page it will provide information including description, tuition, and required materials; and will allow you to Register for it at this web site.
