Two Degree Concept

Because you are receiving two separate B.S. degrees, you have to meet requirements for both of those degrees. This means that you have two advisors, one in Human Nutrition and one in Kinesiology. It also means that you should be listed as a major in two departments (Human Nutrition; Kinesiology). Thirdly, any paperwork you file (course substitutions, application for graduation clearance, etc.) must be submitted to and approved by the Dean's offices in two colleges (Human Ecology; Arts and Sciences).

Sometimes this is confusing because procedures and forms are different between the colleges. For example, your curriculum is listed differently in both department and colleges.  If you are correctly enrolled as a dual major, the Registrar should have both of these curricula listed under your name.

If you are also a pre-health professions major (e.g., pre-med or pre-physical therapy) you will have a "third" major (and a "third" advisor as well).   If you are interested in pre-med or pre-physical therapy you should read the PHPP section in this web.

A few NUKIN majors have completed a third B.S. in Dietetics or Athletic Training.  If you are interested in those options refer to the sections on Becoming a Registered Dietitian and Athletic Training.
