Campus Recreation Facilities

Chester Peters Recreation Complex is a large building located on Denison Avenue across from the Veterinary Sciences complex. the building is surrounded by tennis and handball/racquetball courts, and 20 acres of lighted playfields for football, soccer, and softball. Currently it has 3 gyms, 16 racquetball/handball /squash courts, combatives room, 2 running tracks, circuit/stretching area, video lounge, and locker rooms with saunas. Students who wish to use the Natatorium (in Ahearn Complex) have to go through this office. Cost: no additional cost to students who have a current KSU ID. However parking permits are required if you use their parking lot. A listing of the Rec Complex facility hours is on the web at: http://www.recservices.ksu.edu/

L.I.F.E. Program (offered through the Department of Kinesiology) also has facilities, structured classes and services that can be used by KSU students. Although it is available fewer hours than the Chester Peters Recreation Complex it is more conveniently located in the Ahearn Complex, is less crowded, and has more personalized services. The L.I.F.E. program provides structured programs, two weight rooms, indoor track, basketball courts, and cardiovascular equipment. The L.I.F.E. program provides testing for body composition (skinfold, hydrostatic weighing), cardiovascular fitness, strength and flexibility, exercise and nutrition evaluation and consultation. Cost per student currently (Jan 1, 2007) is  $20/month, $60/4 months, or $160/year. Locker and towel fees are additional. Contact the L.I.F.E. program office in Natatorium 03 at 532-0704.  Online information is at: http://www.ksu.edu/kines/life.htm
