"DARS" - Degree Audit System

DARS is a computerized degree audit program which provides a personalized account of how K-State and transfer courses apply toward an undergraduate student's chosen degree program (in other words, how your courses count towards your major).  You can access DARS as a menu item through iSIS.   If there is something on your DARS report that you have a question about please see your advisor.

DARS is also very useful if you are thinking of switching to another major and want to see how your courses count.  Additionally, if you transferred in courses from another institution to K-State, you can check your DARS report to see whether they arrived.

DARS is a somewhat lengthy document to interpret.  There is an excellent "slide show" which includes an user-friendly interpretation of the DARS printout at DARS at Kansas State.

Here are the instructions to view your DARS report on the web.  When you are in the DARS report and want to switch between options is better to use the "Cancel" and "Return" buttons rather than the usual forward and backward windows options.

  • Go to the iSIS website at:  http://isis.k-state.edu

  • Enter your eID and password.

  • Under "Degree Programs/Progress": click on DARS

  • You should then see your B.S. curriculum(s) listed.  If you are correctly enrolled as a Nutrition & Kinesiology major you should see both Nutrition and Kinesiology listed as two separate lines.

  • Click on the yellow button "Submit Report"

  • There will be a short delay while the report is being processed, but it will eventually give you a msg saying it has been successfully submitted.

  • To get your results click on the blue "Results" tab at the top of the screen.

  • It should then list your major; if not - click periodically on the "Refresh" button until you see it.

  • When you see your degree listed click on the hyperlinked "View Report" listed after it.  This will bring you to your DARS report.  You can print out this report.

If you are Thinking of Switching to Another Major and want to see how your courses are counted, do the following:

  • At the DARS main menu check the "What If Flag"

  • Then click on the magnifying glass next to Program  and "What If" Plan to select the college and curriculum you want.

  • Then click on the yellow "Submit Report" button and run the DARS report as before.
