Nutrition & Kinesiology (NUKIN)
Kansas State University

Activity/Sport/Recreation Courses

Although not required in the NUKIN curriculum, students often express interest in taking activity courses to improve their fitness, reduce stress, enhance sport skills, meet people, or just have fun. (Sometimes they also are just looking for an interesting 1-credit course to take.)

K-State offers a variety of courses (mostly 1-credit) through two different departments: 1) Kinesiology, and 2) Horticulture, Forestry, and Recreation Resources (College of Agriculture).

The Department of Kinesiology has offered basketball, aerobic dancing, fitness & conditioning, jogging, and weight training. The Department of Horticulture, Forestry & Recreation Resources offers a variety of courses listed under RRES 200 Topics in Recreation Resources through the Division of Continuing Education. They include bowling, archery, golf, martial arts, tennis, fly fishing, scuba diving, boxing, fencing, canoeing, fitness swimming, yogapilates, body toning, and water polo. Enroll in the specific RRES 200 course through the Division of Continuing Education at: http://www.dce.k-state.edu/ .
