The more mature head on the right is from an older
tiller, while the left head, which is more green, is from a later tiller.
Also, you can see the later tiller has a greener stem than the right head’s
stem. You are probably asking yourself, "will this difference in
maturity of these two heads affect when they can be harvested?" Good
question. Because they are only several days apart in kernel development
in their respective heads they will be ready for harvest at about the same
time. So, the answer is there won’t be any problem here. |
