| Nitrogen deficiency | |
| Nitrogen deficiency in wheat occurs when there is not enough nitrogen in
the soil to supply the needs of the crop. Farmers apply nitrogen fertilizer to the soil
because they know the crop requires more nitrogen than the soil can supply. Sometimes no
fertilizer or not enough fertilizer is applied and the plants show deficiency symptoms. This is an excellent example of nitrogen deficiency. Plants are often stunted and have a light green to yellowish appearance. |
