POSITION: Research Associate, Position #W0007480 Full-time, 12 month position
A successive 1 year term appointment may be possible upon satisfactory progress and continued funding.

LOCATION: Department of Agronomy, Throckmorton Plant Sciences Center, Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS

RESPONSIBILITIES

The selected candidate will lead independent research in identify genes that are responsible for stress tolerance in sorghum.
Specific tasks include:

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  1. Ph.D. in Plant Biology, Genetics, or related fields
  2. Experience in stress physiology, transformation, molecular biology
  3. Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication

Preferred:

  1. Experience in cloning, functional identification and physiology mechanism of plant genes related to abiotic stress
  2. Plant abiotic stress signaling transduction
  3. Experience in supervising undergraduates

SALARY: The annual salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
