Released: May 02, 2008 K-State Research and Extension Names Summer Interns MANHATTAN, Kan. -- K-State Research and Extension has named nine students as 2008 summer interns. The interns will assist Extension agents and staff in planning and implementing educational programs for residents in Kansas counties. The interns, in alphabetical order by last name, followed by major, hometown and (in parentheses) district, county or organization in which they will work, are: Mike Beying, agricultural education, Easton, Kan. (Reno County); Kaitlyn Crow, agricultural communications and journalism, Winfield, Kan. (Harvey County); Michelle Galindo, secondary education with an emphasis in Spanish, Garden City, Kan. (Seward County); Rebecca Guilfoyle, animal sciences and industry, Fontana, Kan. (Central Kansas District); Avery Land, horticulture, Burlingame, Kan. (Douglas County); Kaleb Little, agricultural communications and journalism, Rossville, Kan. (Ellis County); Emily Nelson, public health nutrition and dietetics and biology, Paola, Kan. (Barton County); Julie Niehage, agricultural education, McPherson, Kan. (Scott County); and Bernadette Trieb, family studies and human services, Wamego, Kan. (Leavenworth County). K-State Research and Extension, based at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan., conducts research and offers programs, publications and newsletters focused on improving the quality of life for Kansans and others using science-based information.
