Released: May 15, 2008 Tiemeyer to Join Staff of K-State Research and Extension Reno County Office MANHATTAN, Kan. - Jennifer Tiemeyer will join the staff of the K-State Research and Extension Reno County office as a family and consumer sciences agent, effective May 18. Tiemeyer, who is from Cheney, Kan., earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from Fort Hays State University.
She worked previously as a coordinator for the Kansas Childrens Service League in Pratt County, Kan., and as a K-State Research and Extension family and consumer sciences agent in Barber County. Extension agents are jointly employed in a partnership between K-State Research and Extension, headquartered on the Kansas State University campus in Manhattan, and the local county Extension council. Family and consumer sciences extension agents provide leadership in their communities by developing and delivering educational programming relative to family related issues including nutrition, food safety, parenting, financial management, health and safety. The role of K-State Research and Extension is to encourage the adoption of research-based information to improve the quality of life for Kansans.
