Extension’s Ladd to Take Post in Iowa Extension MANHATTAN, Kan. – After 15 years as director of the Riley County office of K-State Research and Extension, Alan Ladd is leaving to accept a post in Iowa. Ladd, who has worked for KSRE a total of 25 years, will leave his position in Riley County May 31 to become the Iowa State University area Extension education director in southwest Iowa. The position is based in Lewis, Iowa. “Dr. Ladd has provided strong leadership for the K-State Research and Extension program in Riley County for the past 15 years,” said Jim Lindquist, Northeast and Metropolitan Counties Area Extension Director. “He also provided leadership to public issues education on topics important to Riley Countians. We wish him well as he assumes leadership of Extension programs and personnel in the counties of southwest Iowa. Prior to his work in Riley County, Ladd held Extension positions in Brown and Finney counties. The Riley County Extension Council Executive Board will discuss the filling of the county Extension director position at its April board meeting. -30- K-State Research and Extension is a short name for the Kansas State University Agricultural Experiment Station and Cooperative Extension Service, a program designed to generate and distribute useful knowledge for the well-being of Kansans.
