Kansas Forage Expo Slated for March 11

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas Forage Expo is March 11 at the Sedgwick County Extension Education Center in Wichita.

The day-long event, which begins with registration at 8:15 a.m., will include educational sessions, exhibits, a producer panel discussion, a hay judging contest and an awards luncheon, according to Kansas State University Research and Extension agronomist and event coordinator Gary Kilgore.

The Expo will be followed by the Kansas Forage and Grassland Council Annual Meeting, which begins at 4 p.m.

The Expo’s general session includes these topics: Certified Weed-Free Hay and Hay Market Outlook. Breakout session topics include Alfalfa Weed Control, Bermuda Grass Variety Selection, and Forage Questions: Ask Kilgore. Commercial companies will also give product clinics.

The registration cost is $20, if paid by March 8, and $25, if paid after that or at the door. Registration includes all handouts, refreshment breaks and the luncheon.
