Environmental Leadership Program Names New Class Members

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas Environmental Leadership Program (KELP) has named its class of 2004 members.

The members, in alphabetical order, are Ron Allen, Jetmore; Kent Askren, Rossville; Darcy Basye, Hutchinson; Warren Bell, Burlington; Will Boyer, Topeka; Kyle Clark, Anthony; Marilyn Eccles, Burlington; Jeremy Frazzell, Manhattan; Gale Garber, New Century; David Gurss, Salina; John Heston, Oskaloosa; Caroline Hosford, Wichita; Carol Hughes, Seneca; D. Kay Johnson, Wichita; Jerry Jost, Lawrence; Cyndra Kastens, Anthony; Joe Kerby, Neodesha; Ann Mayo, Emporia; Katie Miller, Council Grove; Stacie Minson, Wakeeney; Jennifer Nichols, Minneapolis; Brent Oatney, Partridge; Scott Selee, Garden City; Steve Swaffar, Rossville; and Luann Watson, Elkhart.

Class members will participate in five training sessions held in several communities throughout the state over a 10-month period.

The sessions are designed to help members hone their leadership skills and learn about the environment and water resources in Kansas, said Judy Willingham, KELP coordinator. The program is administered through the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at Kansas State University.
