K-State Scientists To Host Entomology Meeting in Kansas City

MANHATTAN, Kan. – The topic will be bugs when Kansas State University entomologists host the 59th Annual Meeting of the North Central Branch of the Entomology Society of America in Kansas City, Mo., March 28-31.

The meeting is expected to draw scientists from universities and corporations throughout the north central United States and Manitoba and Ontario, Canada, to hear updates on research being conducted in such diverse areas as Bt corn and monarch butterflies, mosquitoes and West Nile Virus, pests in grain elevators and threats to flowers and vegetable crops.

The Entomological Society of America (ESA) is the largest organization in the world serving the professional and scientific needs of entomologists and people in related disciplines.

Founded in 1889, ESA today has more than 6,000 members, including educators, extension personnel, consultants, students, researchers, and scientists from agricultural departments, health agencies, private industries, colleges and universities, and state and federal governments.
