Released: January 03, 2003 K-State Horse Judging Team Ends Year as Reserve National Champions MANHATTAN, Kan. – After four national competitions, the Kansas State University horse judging team earned the overall reserve national champions title. The title results from averaging all of the scores from the contests into a final year-end ranking.
The team competed in the National Morgan Horse Contest in Oklahoma City, finishing with reserve championship. At the All American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio, K-State junior Doug Ross placed as the high individual overall. The team finished as the reserve world champions at the American Quarter Horse Association World Show also held in Oklahoma City, and competed in the National Reining Futurities. The team was coached by Julie Voge. Students Justin Ochs and Abby Broulik served as assistant coaches. -30- K-State Research and Extension is a short name for the Kansas State University Agricultural Experiment Station and Cooperative Extension Service, a program designed to generate and distribute useful knowledge for the well-being of Kansans.
