Released: January 08, 2002 Swine Meetings Set in Seneca, Washington MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State University Research and Extension specialists will host informational meetings in Seneca and Washington to help swine producers make important management decisions. On Jan. 30 and 31, the program will focus on ventilation and waste management, with K-State specialists Pat Murphy and Joel DeRouchey. The Jan. 30 meeting is at Valentino’s in Seneca, and the Jan. 31 meeting is at the First National Bank in Washington. The second set of meetings focuses on nutrition and pig management with K-State specialists Steve Dritz, Jim Nelssen and Mike Tokach. The meetings will be held Feb. 27 at Valentino’s in Seneca, and Feb. 28 at the First National Bank in Washington. At each meeting, individual producers can choose between morning and afternoon sessions (or attend both) according to the topic most appropriate for their operation. The morning sessions begin at 10 a.m. and the afternoon sessions at 1 p.m. "Our goal is to provide [producers with] take-home information for rapid application and use on their farm," said K-State’s Tokach.
