Directory of Kansas Leadership Programs
Updated:  April 2004
Kansas State University
Manhattan, KS

Purpose:  The purpose of this directory is to provide contacts and basic leadership program information to individuals throughout Kansas who are interested in building their leadership potential. The directory includes only programs in which leadership is the main goal; it does not list organizations in which leadership is a by-product of other activities.

Format:  The leadership programs and events have been organized into four categories.

* State and Community Based Leadership Programs includes community and state leadership sessions that occur on a regular basis.

* Classes & Events includes annual seminars, camps, and conferences as well as individual classes offered through colleges or organizations.

* Collegiate Programs are those university and college programs that involve leadership classes and opportunities coordinated through a central leadership office. A minor or certification in leadership studies is offered in many programs.

* Youth Organizations consists of youth leadership organizations that are coordinated through national, state, and local offices.

Acknowledgements
The Leadership Studies Program at Fort Hays State University produced the first Kansas Directory of Leadership Education in July 1993 and revised it in subsequent years.  Thank you to Fort Hays State!  This directory is based on that model and was first produced in 2001.

 Special thanks to
*The many program and event contacts who were so gracious in providing information for this directory.

*Kansas Leadership Forum members.

*Extension agents, chambers of commerce, economic development committees, college faculty, organizations, and individuals who believe strongly enough in the importance of leadership to create, implement, and build leadership programs across Kansas.

*Administrative Specialist Becky Holt and Assistant Kristin Deters.
