The day starts with registration and coffee at 9:30 a.m. and the program begins at 10:15 a.m. Presentations by K-State specialists and industry representatives will include:
-Forces shaping change in the U.S. beef sector.
-Impact of added-value programs on beef stocker producers.
-Breakeven stocker management strategies.
-Using individual stocker information for value.
-Whether stocker implants are still relevant for targeted quality-grade programs.
-Animal ID technology performance – realistic expectations.
-Variation in forage quality as it relates to stocker performance.
Pre-registration for the field day is $20, which includes a barbecue lunch and a Rocky Mountain Oyster Fry at the end of the program. Registration at the door is $30.
