BRIEF DESCRIPTION (include major objectives)

EFNEP is a nutrition education program designed to help limited resource families, especially young families with children, improve their diets and more effectively manage the resources available to them.  In Kansas EFNEP is available in Sedgwick, Shawnee and Crawford counties.  In EFNEP, paraprofessional nutrition assistants work with homemakers individually or in small groups to improve knowledge and skills in basic nutrition, food preparation, food buying, money management and food safety.  The overall goal of the program is to help limited resource families and youth make simple changes in eating behaviors so that over time, healthy choices become healthy habits.
