These programs are about how healthy eating, including functional foods, and physical activity can be used to prevent or treat some of our most common chronic diseases, such as diabetes (see separate profile), age-related macular degeneration, arthritis, cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, osteoporosis and others.

 

Major objectives:

 

Participants will increase their knowledge of how functional foods, healthy eating and physical activity can protect and improve health.

 

Participants will increase their skills in choosing nutritious meals and snacks and in balancing the food they eat with physical activity.
