Position:
Horticultural Therapy (7 tenths teaching,
3 tenths research)
Responsibility: Teaching,
extension, community service, research, and advising are used to spread the message of
horticulture's health and wellness benefits. Hands-on experiences in teaching,
extension and community service projects demonstrate the complex interactions between
people and plants. Research efforts study the body, mind, and spiritual benefits of
gardening to people of all ages, conditions, and abilities. Advising assists quality
students to reach their full potentials and find meaningful careers in horticultural
therapy, allied health, and horticultural occupations.
