Research Profile
Jack Fry is a professor in the Department of Horticulture, Forestry and Recreation Resources at Kansas State University. Since arriving at K-State in 1991, Jack’s research has been focused on turfgrass water conservation, integrated pest management, and establishment. He has advised of 5 M.S. and 5 Ph.D. graduates, and published over 50 refereed journal articles. He recently co-authored the text Applied Turfgrass Science and Physiology, which will be available in July, 2004. Jack served on the USGA Turfgrass and Environmental Research Committee in 1994, and was associate editor in the turf managmeent area for the journal HortScience from 1995 to 1998, and Agronomy Journal from 2002 to 2004. He served as the chair of division C-5 (Turfgrass Science) of the Crop Science Society of America in 2004. Jack teaches two courses, Turfgrass Management and Golf Course Operations, advises approximately 50 undergraduates, and oversees internships. Selected recent publications:
