Grazing Management and Prescribed Burning Workshops are scheduled by county extension offices. Please contact your local extension office to see if any workshops are in the works
The Grazing Management Workshop (GMW) is based on the Kansas Grazing Management notebook. Not all the material in the notebook will be covered in the workshop. The Kansas Grazing Management notebook is designed to be a reference to help you evaluate, plan and carry out YOUR grazing management plan. Workshops are usually scheduled from January to early February. Workshops for 2008: Available upon request
The Prescribed Burning Workshop (PBW) was designed to help with the understanding of the nature and behavior of fire. Some of the topics that will be covered are fire control, fire safety, and burning regulations. The workshop is designed to either prepare the participants to begin using prescribed burning or to update their knowledge and abilities. Workshops are usually scheduled from late February into March. Workshops for 2008: January 15 - Goodland January 23 - Marion February 6 - Colby February 27 - Beaumont March 7 - Lawrence
