Trial Comments
Treatments for the fall version of this
experiment only featured the concentrates from the original protocol, as they
featured the rate discrepancy that compromised
the original results. All spray application specifications were as
detailed in the spring version of the
experiment already reported on. Results were more as expected in this
experiment as all herbicides effectively
controlled dandelion. Good uniform populations of this weed were evident
prior to initiating the study. While the
All-in-One product showed reduced control compared to the other
concentrates, the rate differential among the
products specified in the protocol may have been partially
accountable as the All-in-One material contains
considerably less phenoxy herbicide than the others. Properly
accounting for these concentration differences
effectively levels the playing field for efficacy comparison.
