The Country Club at Castle Pines
Mr. Sean K. McCue
Golf Course Superintendent
6400 Country Club Dr.
Castle Rock, CO 80108

Internship:

Course Info.

Designed by Jack Nicklaus, The Country Club at Castle Pines is a private, 18-hole, championship course.  Starting at 7,000 feet above
sea level, the course meanders through a valley 600 feet below before making its way back up to the clubhouse.  On clear days,
golfers enjoy spectacular views of Colorado and the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.  With no two holes running parallel with each
other, woods, native areas, and a very challenging golf course challenge golfers.

The greens and tees were originally seeded with Penncross bentgrass and the fairways were seeded with A-34 bluegrass.  The fairways are currently being overseeded with Seaside II bentgrass.  The irrigation system has Rainbird Cirrus software and can be controlled through our freedom hand-held radios.

Objective:

To provide a first class internship where technical skills can be combined with hands-on experience that will serve as a foundation for the future.

We expect our interns to be hard working, open-minded individuals who are willing to use different management practices in our semi-arid climate.  A 60-70 hour workweek is very common.

Internship Info:

$7.75/hr + overtime; 60-70 hrs/week; Daily Routines (course set-up): help manage crew of 25+employees, fertilize, spray, irrigation work, various course improvement projects, mock budget work, attend committee meetings.  Benefits: furnished apartment paid for by The Country Club at Castle Pines; Utilities paid (except phone and cable); uniforms, golfing privileges.
