KCA Tells USDA: Importer Should Bear Burden of Proof,
April 10, 2000 - The Kansas Cattlemen’s Association has told the USDA that
country of origin labeling can be an effective and efficient program if
implemented using existing programs already in place and if the importer
were to bear the burden of the cost. Also, all products should to be
considered of domestic origin unless otherwise labeled. KCA joined 35 other
organization in the coalition Americans for Country of Origin Labeling in
submitting comments on USDA’s Voluntary Labeling Guidelines.
KCA Requests Investigation from Attorney General’s Office,
April 10, 2003 - The Kansas Cattlemen’s Association has requested that Phill Kline, Kansas
Attorney General, investigate the letters and flyers of intimidation sent to
Kansas cattle producers by U.S. meat packing companies.
