your employees and students to take charge of their own safety through
training on issues such as back injury prevention, laboratory safety,
chemical safety, hazardous waste, office ergonomics, farm & field
ergonomics, shop safety, power tool safety, eye/hearing/respiratory
protection, pesticide worker protection, lockout/tagout (safe maintenance
of hazardous equipment), electrical safety, hot weather hazards, cold
weather hazards, motor vehicle safety, farm machinery safety, ladder
safety, confined spaces (entering silos, pits, etc.), mowing/groundskeeping
safety, forklift safety, bloodborne pathogens, fire prevention, compressed
gases, etc. Training is free of charge and can be provided at your
location.

Free on-campus training on topics such as laboratory safety, chemical
safety, hazardous waste, and radiation safety.

Educational programs on alcohol and other drug issues.
K-State Employee Relations and Training. 785-532-6818. Training
programs on a variety of topics, such as back safety, conflict management,
stress, wellness, and workplace violence.

On-site safety training on topics such as distracted driving, drinking and
driving, and farm safety. Please coordinate these training sessions
through Mitch so that we can train as many departments as possible when
Marieta is in the area.
Defensive Driving. Call Mitch Ricketts at 785-532-7068 if
your department would like to have a defensive driving training session at
your location. Cost is $15.00 per person. Everyone who
completes the training will receive a certificate which may entitle
him/her to a discount on personal auto insurance.
First Aid/CPR. Call Mitch Ricketts at 785-532-7068 if your
department would like to have a first aid/CPR class at you location.
Cost is $22 per person for the initial eight hour class and $16 per person
for the four hour refresher class. Everyone who completes the class
will receive a certificate card that is good for one year.
