HEALTH PROGRAMS

Purpose . . .

Pesticide & Fertilizer Safety program is to protect employees and the community from health hazards which are associated with exposure to pesticides and fertilizer. Respiratory Protection program is to establish procedures for the selection of respiratory protection equipment, implementing responsibilities, and training in the use of the selected equipment.  Personal Protective Equipment is to protect employees from the risk of injury by creating a barrier against workplace hazards. Personal protective equipment will be provided, used, and maintained when it has been determined that its use is required. Medical Surveillance program identifies the responsibilities of K-State Research and Extension Administration to offer such a program. Hearing Protection program which provides procedures to prevent occupationally induced hearing loss. Hazard Communication Program is to provide K-State Research and Extension employees with the necessary information to protect their health and well being from chemical hazards.
