2004 Accomplished Completed a ramp and ADA accessible doors for office building.
2004 Accomplished Conducted a survey among employees to identify safety concerns and needs.
2004 Accomplished Provide first aid training.
2003 Accomplished Developed a general safety orientation program for new employees.
2003 Accomplished Posted signs indicating tornado shelter locations. Provided employees with information about where to go in case of a tornado as well as general tornado safety information.
2003 Accomplished Provided the following training for employees: defensive driving, pesticide worker protection, forklift safety, and chemical safety.
2003 Accomplished The committee met three times during the year to identify and address safety issues.
2003 Accomplished Placed first aid kits in all Northwest Area office vehicles.
2003 Accomplished Solicited employee input on safety by means of a survey.
2003 Accomplished Conducted a thorough review and update of pesticide safety practices in compliance with EPA’s Worker Protection Standard.
2003 Accomplished Established 7 decontamination sites on the station as required by the Worker Protection Standard.
2003 Accomplished Awarded a contract to construct a ramp and ADA accessible doors into the office. Conducted chemical safety and hazardous waste inspections in laboratory and farm operations. Helped employees resolve chemical safety issues.
2003 Accomplished Provided employee medical surveillance including hearing tests, pulmonary function tests, cholinesterase blood tests, and tetanus vaccines.
2003 Accomplished Provided defensive driver training to research and extension employees at Colby and Hays.
2002 Accomplished Employees participated in a 6-hour training on management and resolution of conflicts.
2002 Accomplished Developed an incident reporting system.
2002 Accomplished Obtained employee input by means of a survey
2002 Accomplished The committee was trained on August 15, 2002.
2002 Accomplished The committee is exploring ways to provide defensive driving and first aid training to employees.
