| The white-chaffed variety, Karl 92, is on the left and Jagger is on the right. There is a big difference in chaff color of these two varieties. Chaff color can be used to help identify varieties. For example, if a farmer thinks a variety is Jagger in a certain field, but the heads have a white chaff, we know it can’t be Jagger. So, it must be another variety. | |
