Community Leadership is different from Corporate Leadership.
Public problems are interconnected; cross organizational and jurisdictional
boundaries; and are often complex. No single agency, organization,
jurisdiction, or community has enough authority, influence, or resources to
dictate visionary solutions. Collaborative community Leadership demands
different roles, tasks, and skills then those required in the corporate
world. This innovative workshop will address the unique challenges facing
public leaders in establishing effective coalitions.
* Explore 10 key questions to define roles and aid coalition
development.
* Discover how to frame issues for long term outcomes.
* Learn about tools to better engage stakeholders in
addressing public issues.

Registration Information:

to see. |

applied to community planning facilitation. This will be an informative

Davis, Superintendent of Schools in Dodge City; Janie Perkins, Mayor of
Garden City and a member of the Kansas Board of Regents; and Dennis Mesa,

designed to enhance the capacity of 21st Century leaders and those working
with leadership programs to deal with diversity issues. Those attending will
have a special opportunity to engage in an immersion experience, where teams
of participants will be sent into the community to interact with diversity
firsthand. This activity was tested at an earlier workshop and was very
